30 Days of Intention

Day #2 – “Loosening Up”

Overview of Day #2
My heart seemed to be beating a bit faster than normal yesterday afternoon and evening, so I wasn’t looking forward to today. Thankfully, I didn’t feel as odd, but I’m very aware of my physicality. I’m craving bread or pasta or cheese, but I’ve resisted. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed my meals today.

I also felt like my need for distraction and W4W (work for work sake) was loosening up. As I continue to read Tim Ferris, I’m wondering about the possibility of doubling my income by launching new products in the next 60 days. It’s almost the mental shift of saying, “If my current income stopped, could I replace it in 60 days?” My intention is to carry out this plan and see what my results will be.

  • Family – Dropped kids off.
  • 8TRACKstudios – revised a client email campaign and set two client meetings to review upcoming projects.
  • Writing – Finished chapter 3 and halfway through chapter 4 (with a blanket on our new back patio with Lexie by my side).
  • Exploration – Drove to Echo Park to explore several shops and bought a pair of vintage shorts.
  • Friends – Typed a note to a new friend.
  • Family – Cooked dinner for my family.
  • Research – Looked at different locations and flight costs for a month-long, summer excursion to live in a foreign culture…leaning toward Nicaragua.
  • Reading – Tonight, I plan to begin reading “Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality.”
  • Facebook & Twitter – no browsing at all.

Health
I started to feel a sore throat coming on today, but it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse. I rarely get sick, so I’m assuming that I’ll be able to fight this off.

  • Early morning breakfast – protein shake (68 grams) with 3/4 cup of egg whites, multi-vitamin.
  • Lunch – grilled chicken breast, corn, and green beans.
  • Dinner – lean hamburger (no bun), ketchup, mustard, lettuce, pickles, onions, and northern beans.
  • Exercise - 15 minute brisk walk.

Tomorrow – Day #3
I have a client meeting at Panera Bread to discuss a new website…excited about the project and the opportunity to eat out with a new menu in mind. I’ll finish chapter 4 and perhaps get started on chapter 5. I didn’t print some photos again, so I’d like to knock that out. And, I’ll research a gallery to check out. BTW, Laura and I plan to go shopping at UNIQUE Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon after our gathering of New Wine…should be fun!
